Steve Arnieri

A 1973 graduate of John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights, IL where he was a member of the schools first-ever league championship baseball team.
Steve played two years of baseball as an outfielder at Harper Jr. College in Palatine, IL and two years at Northern Illinois University.
He served as an Assistant Coach at the University of Illinois from 1983-87, working with the Illini hitters and developing several professional players, including major league hitters Darrin Fletcher and Mark Dalesandro.
In 1995, he served as hitting coach in the White Sox organization.
Head coach for the White Sox Training Center Youth Camps from 1996-98.
Steve has given private and group hitting instruction in the Chicago area for over 20 years, many of his students have gone on to star in professional baseball.
Steve began his scouting career in 1988 with the White Sox.
Midwest scout from 1993-95.
Associate scout for Boston (1996-98).
Scouting with the San Francisco Giants in January of 1999.
Steve was honored in 2002 with the Nick Kamzic Scout of the Year by the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association.

Eddie Acosta

Eduardo is a former infielder who played in Minor League Baseball system from 1991 through 1998. Acosta batted and threw right-handed. He was taken by the LA Dodgers in the 1991 Major League Baseball Draft. But never signed with them and opted to sign a free agent contract with the Montreal Expos where he played professionally at the Double-A level. From 1991-1998, Eduardo played professional for the Montreal Expos and Milwaukee Brewers. Eduardo also played winter ball in Panama where he was born and raised.
Eduardo has two current Cousins pitching in the MLB for the Colorado Rockies and New York Mets (Manuel Corpas and Manuel Acosta), plus two more in the minor leagues for the St. Louis Cardinals and San Diego Padres (Alex Corpas and Jean Carlos Corpas).
Eduardo positive and passionate coaching style attracts some of the best players in the area. Eduardo spent the 2010 summer coaching the 10u -11u Palatine Travelers team, and will follow the team up to the 11U level for the '11 season with the PSP Rockies.

Pete Nazos

 

  • Selected in the 27th round of the 1997 amateur draft by the New York Yankees out of high school
  • Graduated from University of Illinois and got first professional baseball experience
    with the Joliet Jack Hammers in 2002
  • Hit .292 in his rookie season and was traded to the North Shore Spirit in 2003,
    where he has spent the bulk of his pro career.
  • Had his best season at the plate in 2005 with North Shore, batting .315 with 17 HR and 65 RBI in 90 games
  • Set all-time records in the Can-Am League for runs scored (83) and hit by pitches (21) in a season in 2005.
  • Returned to the Northern League for his seventh season of professional baseball with the Schaumburg Flyers
  • Has worked as a professional hitting instructor for the Chicago White Sox Academy
    and has conducted hitting clinics around the Chicagoland area.

2012 will be RC's 18th season coaching in pro ball. From 1994-2005, he spent 5 years with the Brewer's organization and 5 years coaching and managing in independent pro ball.

RC has spent the last 7 years with the Tampa Bay Rays as a minor league pitching coach. For the 2012 season, he will be coaching the Montgomery Biscuits, the Rays' AA affiliate. During his tenure with the Rays he has, so far, coached David Price, Wade Davis, Jeremy Hellickson, Jake McGee, Matt Moore, and Andy Sonnanstine.

In addition to his regular season responsibilities, RC worked in winter ball in Venezuela in 2008 as a pitching coordinator and, following the 2009 season, he represented the Rays organization as a pitching coach in the Arizona Fall League. During this time in Arizona, he led a staff including the Washington Nationals' prospects Stephen Strasburg and Drew Storen.

RC has been doing private lessons for 20 years for pitchers, catchers, and hitters. He will be available on Tuesday nights until he leaves for Spring Training the end of February. He can be reached at papalich@aol.com

 

Elissa “Wiz” Wisniewski

  • After her success at Stevenson, Lis attended Winona State as a 4 yr. scholarship starter where she led the team to 2 regular season conference championships, 1 conference tournament championship, and 2 NCAA post season appearances.
  • Lead the conference in wins and strikeouts as a freshman
  • Lead the conference in ERA as a senior.
  • After her collegiate experience, Lis has continued her playing career with the 18/older- Northern Illinois Lightning - finished 3rd at Nationals the last two years
